Cancellation & Refund Policy
How cancellations work for Guests and Hosts, including refund eligibility and timelines.
1. Overview
Every listing on Veerelo displays the cancellation policy that applies to it. The policy in force at the moment a booking is confirmed governs all refunds for that reservation, even if the Host updates the policy later.
Veerelo currently supports four per-listing policies: Flexible, Moderate, Limited and Firm. Additional listing-specific or seasonal policies may be introduced over time.
2. Standard policies
Flexible
- Full refund if the Guest cancels at least 24 hours before check-in.
- After that, no full refund applies.
Moderate
- Full refund if the Guest cancels at least 5 days before check-in.
- 50% refund if the Guest cancels less than 5 days before check-in.
Limited
- Full refund if the Guest cancels at least 14 days before check-in.
- 50% refund between 7 and 14 days before check-in.
- No refund less than 7 days before check-in.
Firm
- Full refund if the Guest cancels at least 30 days before check-in.
- 50% refund between 7 and 30 days before check-in.
- No refund less than 7 days before check-in.
3. Guest cancellations
Guests can cancel a reservation from Trips → Reservation details. The refund amount is calculated automatically from the applicable policy and the time remaining until check-in.
Veerelo Service Fees may be non-refundable except where required by law. Taxes are refunded to the same extent as the underlying booking amount.
4. Host cancellations
Hosts are expected to honour confirmed bookings. If a Host cancels, the Guest receives a full refund of the booking total and may receive priority assistance from Veerelo to find a comparable alternative.
Host cancellations may trigger:
- Forfeiture of the Host service fee for that booking.
- An automatic block of the cancelled dates on the listing calendar.
- Lower placement in search results for a period of time.
- A public note on the listing in cases of repeated cancellations.
- Account review and, for repeat offenders, suspension or removal of the listing.
5. Extenuating circumstances
Veerelo may waive standard cancellation rules in genuinely exceptional cases, including natural disasters, government-imposed travel restrictions, serious illness or bereavement supported by evidence. Decisions are made case-by-case at Veerelo's discretion.
Personal scheduling conflicts, weather inconvenience or general changes of plan do not constitute extenuating circumstances.
6. Payment processing & refund timelines
Refunds are initiated through our payment provider as soon as the cancellation is processed. The funds typically appear in your account within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank or card issuer.
Payouts to Hosts for completed stays are released by the payment provider after the Guest's check-in date, typically within a defined number of business days. Holds may apply for fraud-prevention, dispute resolution or compliance reasons.
7. Disputes
Disputes about a cancellation, refund or payout should first be raised between the Guest and the Host through Veerelo Messages. If you cannot reach an agreement, contact legal@veerelo.com and we will review the case.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the app. Reservations confirmed before a policy change are governed by the policy in force at the time of confirmation.
